After 15 years at Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty multiplayer creative director Greg Reisdorf has departed. His tenure spanned numerous Call of Duty titles, beginning with Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. Reisdorf's contributions included leading multiplayer development for the 2023 Modern Warfare 3, overseeing live seasonal content and modes.

Reisdorf's career at Sledgehammer Games, established in 2009, coincided with the studio's entire Call of Duty history. He worked alongside Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software on various releases, culminating in 2024's Black Ops 6 and Warzone. His January 10th departure was confirmed via a Twitter thread detailing his accomplishments. Early contributions included work on Modern Warfare 3's Scorched Earth campaign mission and a memorable sequence in the Blood Brothers mission.

Reisdorf played a key role in shaping the "boots on the ground" era of Call of Duty, contributing to Advanced Warfare's mechanics (boost jumps, dodging, tactical reloads), weapon designs, and map creation. While he acknowledges some design choices, like the "Pick 13" system, weren't perfect, he highlights his contributions to Call of Duty: WW2 (addressing initial class restrictions) and Call of Duty: Vanguard (favoring traditional three-lane maps over strict military realism).

His recent work on Modern Warfare 3 included revisiting and enhancing classic Modern Warfare 2 maps (e.g., adding Shepherd's skull to Rust) and creating over 20 post-launch multiplayer modes, including Season 1's Snowfight and Infectious Holiday. Reisdorf's future plans remain undisclosed, but he indicates continued involvement within the gaming industry.
