Launched in 2019, King of Crabs captivated players with its quirky yet engaging premise—a battle royale starring crabs. Now, developer Robot Squid elevates the crustacean chaos with a bold new chapter. King of Crabs – Invasion introduces a fresh strategic twist.
In this new iteration, Robot Squid shifts gears from the original’s chaotic multiplayer format. Instead of diving into a frenzied tidepool with 99 other players, the game adopts a real-time strategy approach, transforming the wild brawl into a streamlined RTS experience.
In King of Crabs – Invasion, you still command crabs in battle, but the focus shifts to tactical unit deployment on a linear battlefield. Gone is the scramble for weapons and growth through devouring smaller creatures; now, you strategically position units to outmaneuver opponents.
Players can choose from units like standard crab soldiers, catapults, or mace-wielding tanks with claws. Success hinges on overpowering the enemy while navigating map-specific challenges and random obstacles.

The game is already available in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. For global audiences, it launches on Android on May 30th, just three days away, as a dynamic spin-off of the original title.
The original King of Crabs marked the debut of Robot Squid, a British indie studio founded in 2018. Partnering with Spilt Milk Studios, they released the game in 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS, earning it the nickname “Fortnite with claws” at its peak.
