This contrasts sharply with the recent generosity shown to Diablo 4 players. Two free boosts for those owning the expansion and a free level 50 character for everyone were offered. This level 50 character grants access to all of Lilith's stat-boosting Altars and new gear, intended by Blizzard to provide a fresh start for returning players following two significant patches. These patches substantially altered Diablo 4, rendering many early game builds and items ineffective.

The disparity in treatment highlights challenges within Blizzard's management of its game portfolio. While Diablo 4 receives substantial support and freebies, Diablo 3 suffers from operational setbacks.
