Invincible VS to Feature Massive Character Roster, Kirkman Teases

Currently, we're aware of six playable characters in the fighting game Invincible VS. More will undoubtedly join the roster. But how many exactly? According to comments from Invincible creator Robert Kirkman in an IGN interview at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Invincible VS is set to feature an impressively large lineup.

Invincible VS is the upcoming 3v3 tag fighting game set within the Invincible universe. It's being developed by Skybound Entertainment’s first internal game studio, Quarter Up. Characters already confirmed for Invincible VS include Mark Grayson (Invincible), Atom Eve, Thula, Bulletproof, and Rex Splode. For further details, see IGN’s Invincible VS preview from June.

Fresh off his SDCC 2025 panel, where he announced Battle Beast for the game, Kirkman told IGN that if fans are curious whether a particular character from the Invincible comic or the Prime Video animated series will appear, there's a "99%" chance they will be included.

Kirkman, ever the talkative type, added that this might count as a spoiler.

“So much effort is being dedicated to staying authentic to the Invincible universe,” Kirkman explained. “So, if you're a fan of the comics or show and you're thinking, ‘There's a fighting game coming—who would I want to play as?’, there's a 99% chance that character will be in the game. I'll just leave it at that. That's a spoiler. I might get in trouble for saying it. Who knows.”

He continued, “The character lineup is going to be absolutely incredible. I'm thrilled we revealed Battle Beast. You simply can't have an Invincible fighting game without making Battle Beast a playable character. There are other similar characters that are highly likely to be included. So, stay tuned. We have many announcements on the way. A fantastic team is working on this, and I'm excited for everyone to see all the details being put into it.”

Regarding the release date for Invincible VS, Kirkman confirmed 2026, which was already known, but then hinted, “It might be sooner than you expect… But it's next year. I'm not giving a specific date.” Intriguing...
