Remedy Entertainment strives to push the gaming industry forward. Inspired by Naughty Dog's groundbreaking work on franchises like Uncharted, the team aims to establish themselves as "Europe's answer to this legendary studio," reveals Kyle Rowley, game director of Alan Wake 2.

During his appearance on the Behind The Voice podcast, Rowley explained how this inspiration shaped both Quantum Break and later, Alan Wake 2's development philosophy.

"Our goal is to become Naughty Dog's European equivalent," Rowley stated.

This influence manifests clearly in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, celebrated for its visual splendor and gripping narrative. The title's critical and commercial success has cemented Remedy's reputation as one of Europe's premier game developers.

Their aspirations extend far beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog has redefined cinematic storytelling in single-player games through franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us - the latter widely regarded as one of gaming's most decorated series and a cornerstone of PlayStation's legacy.

More than a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues receiving meaningful updates to refine the experience across all platforms. The latest patch introduces significant visual improvements, most notably optimizing the game for PS5 Pro with a new "Balanced" graphics preset that smartly combines elements from both Performance and Quality modes.

The update implements subtle graphic tweaks to ensure smoother frame rates and cleaner image quality. Alongside these PS5 Pro enhancements, it addresses various technical issues - particularly those affecting gameplay in the Lake House DLC expansion.
