Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players.
While a release date remains unannounced, the feature is currently under development. With Season 2 launching later this month, players may not have long to wait.
A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes for Black Ops 6's multiplayer and zombies modes, including UI and audio improvements, and XP adjustments for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial change to Zombies' Directed Mode, removing the extended time between rounds and delayed zombie spawns after five looped rounds, following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Horizon
Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracking feature's development via Twitter, responding to a fan request. The feature's popularity in Modern Warfare 3 highlights its significance for players striving for Mastery camos and other in-game achievements. The in-game tracker will likely mirror Modern Warfare 3's functionality, providing real-time progress updates on selected challenges without requiring match completion for progress checks.
Separate HUD Settings Also Planned
In a separate Twitter interaction, Treyarch confirmed that separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes are also in development. This addresses player frustration with needing to constantly adjust HUD settings when switching between game modes.
