He understands the game's unique tone and the challenge of translating its iconic colossi to the screen. The game's influence is even evident in other titles, such as Capcom's 2024 Dragon's Dogma 2.

Despite the 2018 PlayStation 4 remake, the legacy of Shadow of the Colossus continues. Muschietti's involvement, along with the original game director Fumito Ueda's own continued success (including a new sci-fi game announced at The Game Awards 2024), suggests a continued commitment to bringing this beloved game to the big screen, hopefully captivating both existing fans and new audiences.
