Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This will be the third annual event, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements. The first Developer Direct events debuted in January 2023 and 2024, establishing this January showcase as a yearly tradition.

The 2025 event is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th, predicting a January reveal.

Confirmed Games for Xbox Developer Direct 2025:

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
• Doom: The Dark Ages: The latest installment in the Doom franchise from id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. Currently rumored for a mid-2025 launch.
• South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), first unveiled in June 2023. A release date is expected.

While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) showcased multiple games. The 2024 event featured titles like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect the 2025 showcase to include further unannounced surprises.
