Home > News > SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes
Farewell, dear readers, and welcome to the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up for TouchArcade. This concludes a multi-year run, and while I'd hoped to continue, circumstances necessitate a change of course. Next week, I'll share a special edition with a few embargoed reviews, but this marks the end of my regular contributions.
Following Imagineer's successful Fitness Boxing series, including the surprisingly enjoyable Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, their collaboration with Hatsune Miku was an intriguing choice. Having played it alongside Ring Fit Adventure, I'm impressed. This rhythm boxing game offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed content. Note: Joy-Con only; Pro Controller or third-party accessories are not supported.
Standard features include difficulty settings, free training, warm-ups, workout tracking, and customizable reminders. Unlockable cosmetics add extra incentive. While I can't comment on DLC yet, the base game surpasses Fist of the North Star, except for one flaw: the main instructor's voice is jarring and oddly directed. I recommend lowering its volume.
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU is a solid fitness title that successfully integrates Miku's appeal. It's best used as a supplement to other exercise routines rather than your sole fitness program. -Mikhail Madnani

Magical Delicacy from sKaule and Whitethorn Games blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While it excels in some areas, its flaws are noticeable. The story follows Flora, a young witch, and the exploration is surprisingly well-implemented, despite some frustrating backtracking. Inventory management and UI interaction could use improvement.
Visually stunning with pixel art and a charming soundtrack, Magical Delicacy offers customizable UI scaling and text options, ideal for handheld play. The Switch version runs smoothly, except for occasional frame pacing issues. The game's strengths shine on portable devices.
Despite its promising premise, Magical Delicacy feels slightly unfinished due to inventory and backtracking issues. However, it's a solid game with potential for significant improvement through updates. -Mikhail Madnani

A sequel to the 16-bit platformer, Aero The Acro-Bat 2, is a surprisingly polished experience. This release boasts an improved presentation compared to Ratalaika's typical emulation wrappers, including box art scans, achievements, a sprite gallery, and cheats. Only the Super NES version is included, which is a minor drawback.
Fans of the original will appreciate the improvements, and even those who found the first game lacking might find this more enjoyable. Ratalaika's enhanced emulation wrapper is commendable. A strong release for fans and 16-bit platformer enthusiasts.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
A prequel to Metro Quester, this expansion pack adds a new dungeon, character types, and Osaka as a setting. The turn-based combat and top-down exploration remain, but with new challenges and mechanics. The canoe mechanic adds a unique element to traversal.
Fans of the original will find plenty to enjoy, and new players might prefer starting here. It's a rewarding experience for those who appreciate strategic, patient gameplay.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
