Bethesda's Starfield receives a galactic upgrade thanks to a new Creation mod introducing Star Wars lightsabers. The recently released Starfield Creation Kit empowers players to share creations, resulting in a surge of Star Wars-themed mods.
While some mods offer cosmetic additions like Mandalorian armor or Clone Wars attire, others introduce Star Wars creatures and even AT-ST enemies. The range extends to iconic blasters and even a nod to the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game with a Boba Fett mod.
Now, a free Creation Club mod, "Immersive Sabers," by SomberKing, adds three lightsabers – the Combatech Polaris, Old Earth Photonsaber, and Arboron Novabeam Saber – complete with authentic sound effects, upgrade options, and customizable beam colors. A new perk enhances lightsaber deflection. The mod even integrates lightsabers into the game's loot system, making them obtainable from enemies. This clever integration grounds the iconic weapons within Starfield's universe, despite their unique origin in the Star Wars lore. SomberKing plans to add three more lightsaber designs in future updates.
The influx of player-created content, alongside recent game updates featuring city maps and ship customization, has boosted Starfield's overall reception. However, Bethesda's paid mod system remains controversial, particularly regarding content like the locked Trackers Alliance questline. Despite this, upcoming content like the "Shattered Space" expansion and further exploration of the Va'ruun faction promise exciting additions for Starfield players in the near future.
