According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This marks a significant milestone, confirming the project's forward momentum. Fans of the franchise can look forward to the game's release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC, with a budget set at an impressive 50 million euros. Notably, Control 2 will be self-published by Remedy, showcasing their confidence in the project's potential.
In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are currently in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these games were merely in the preparation phase for production, but they have now advanced to the next stage, indicating steady progress. FBC: Firebreak, with a budget of 30 million euros, will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store. While the budget for the Max Payne remakes remains undisclosed, it is known that they will be AAA-level games, fully funded by Rockstar Games for both development and marketing.
However, not all projects have fared as well. The project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's plans. It was canceled back in May of last year, marking a shift in the studio's focus.
All these projects are being developed using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight. This engine has already proven its effectiveness in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy projects, ensuring high-quality gameplay and visuals for their upcoming titles.
