NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa designs, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and stats during your first playthrough.
The Engine Blade is located within the factory, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress to a later point in the game as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides quick access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, follow the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. Jump to the next cylinder area, encountering spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to your left, climbing stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends midway, with a platform extending towards the camera. Shift the camera angle to initiate a 2D platforming section, traversing the tops of presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest (the right chest is locked).
Note: Exploding enemies will drop from the ceiling as you approach the chest.
This weapon allows four upgrades, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, providing more predictable damage output.
