Home > News > Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year
In today's crowded gaming landscape, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. But My Father Lied, a mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure, immediately stands out with its compelling narrative.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is as fascinating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally a game developer. In 2020, he was making a name for himself as a writer and filmmaker. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the story remained. Alameen, driven by his vision, taught himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, embarking on a solo journey to bring his creation to life. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Story
My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths. Players step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, is far from simple.
Drawing inspiration from 7000 years of Mesopotamian culture, the game blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images.
Android Release Date: Coming Soon
My Father Lied launches on PC on May 30th, 2025. Android and iOS versions are slated for release in Q3 2025. For more information, visit the official Kickstarter and Steam pages.
