Capcom recently thrilled fans with a Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing exciting updates and content for the latest installment in the renowned Monster Hunter series. Title Update 1 is set to launch on April 4, 2025, offering a free update packed with new features for all players. Alongside this, a variety of free and paid DLC options will become available, enhancing the gaming experience further. The update promises new social spaces, stylish armor and cosmetics, and thrilling encounters with fearsome monsters.
We've now got a date, detailed insights, and more for the next big update in Monster Hunter Wilds. Which aspect of the update excites you the most? Share your thoughts below!
The showcase kicked off with an introduction to the new endgame hub for hunting parties, aptly named the Grand Hub. This area is brimming with activities to enjoy, from feasting together and arm wrestling to enjoying nightly performances by the Diva. A fun Barrel Bowling mini-game is also available, where players can earn vouchers and rewards through various in-game activities. To unlock the Grand Hub, reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
A highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the elegant yet dangerous Mizutsune. This monster brings swift tail strikes and powerful water jets to the battlefield. To encounter Mizutsune, reach Hunter Rank 21 or above and head to the Scarlet Forest to speak with Kanya for the quest. Successful hunts will reward you with new gear to craft.
A new Event Quest will introduce the formidable Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a challenge for hunters at Hunter Rank 50 or above. Overcoming this beast will grant access to new armor. Additionally, Zoh Shia, previously a one-time fight in the main story, will be available for repeated battles through new quests, also at HR 50, with new armor to craft upon victory.
Speedrunners will find their niche with the introduction of Arena Quests, where they can compete for the fastest clear times. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be accessible through the counter in the Grand Hub, with pendants awarded for participation and achievement.
Alma, the dedicated handler, is getting a fashionable upgrade. Players can now customize her attire through an appearance menu at camp, with one new outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission will also unlock the option to change Alma's glasses.
Title Update 1 will coincide with the release of both free and paid DLC. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be freely available, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, accessible through the store or included with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition, will offer additional customization options. New stickers and looks for Alma are also on the horizon.
The update will bring more Event Quests and introduce Seasonal Events, which will transform the Grand Hub's appearance and menu offerings. The Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starting on April 23, will feature pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has confirmed that most past events and Event Quests will return in the future.
Title Update 1 will roll out on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will arrive on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
The showcase concluded with a glimpse of the upcoming Title Update 2, slated for this summer. While no specific date was given, a teaser image hinted at the return of the iconic Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, set to cause chaos on the surface.
