TouchArcade Rating:
This month's Marvel Snap (Free) deck-building guide arrives a bit early to compensate for last month's delay. A new season brings fresh challenges, and the meta, while recently balanced, is poised for another shake-up thanks to new cards. Remember, today's top deck might be obsolete tomorrow, so these are just one tool among many for staying competitive.
Most decks listed assume a complete card collection. We'll cover five top-tier decks, plus a couple of more accessible, fun options.
The Young Avengers haven't drastically altered the meta, with Kate Bishop performing as expected and Marvel Boy boosting 1-cost decks. However, the new Amazing Spider-Man season and the Activate ability are game-changers; expect significant shifts next month.
Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
Surprisingly, a Kazoo deck tops the charts. The core strategy remains familiar: deploy low-cost cards, then buff them with Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides extra buffs, Gilgamesh thrives in this boosted environment, Kate Bishop fills gaps for Dazzler, and her ability reduces Mockingbird's cost. A strong, yet potentially temporary, contender.
Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
The Silver Surfer deck persists, with minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. Nova/Killmonger provide early boosts, Forge enhances Brood's clones, Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw gains strength from buffs, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent's power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secure the win. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile asset.
Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype also shines. Cards with Ongoing abilities receive a final-turn boost from Spectrum. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing combo is powerful, with Luke protecting cards from US Agent. This deck's ease of play and Cosmo's increasing utility make it a strong choice.
Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A reliable Apocalypse-style Discard deck, featuring a buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards, aiming for a final-round Apocalypse/Dracula combo for massive power. Collector can be surprisingly effective with sufficient Swarm plays.
Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
The Destroy deck remains largely unchanged, with Attuma's recent buff solidifying his place. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, generate extra energy with X-23, and finish with Nimrod or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the increasing prevalence of counter-measures.
Here are two fun, more accessible decks:
Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
A deck built around the surprisingly competitive Darkhawk. Korg and Rockslide flood the opponent's deck, while Spider-Ham, Cassandra Nova, and discard effects support Darkhawk's power.
Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A beginner-friendly version of the Kazar deck, teaching the core combo mechanics without requiring rare cards. While less consistently victorious, it's valuable for learning the strategy.
This month's meta is dynamic. The Activate ability and balance changes will likely reshape the landscape by October. The return of classic decks is intriguing, but unlikely to last. Until then, happy snapping!
