Embracer has celebrated the commercial triumph of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, reporting nearly 2 million copies sold.

The medieval RPG sequel achieved 1 million sales within its first day and has nearly doubled that figure just ten days after launch. Released on February 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, Warhorse Studios' action role-playing game has seen remarkable success, particularly on Steam where it reached over 250,000 peak concurrent players. For comparison, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance peaked at 96,069 concurrent Steam players seven years prior.

It's important to note that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's actual player count would be significantly higher when including console platforms, though Sony and Microsoft don't disclose specific player numbers.

Embracer's CEO Lars Wingefors praised the title's strong launch performance through subsidiary Plaion: "Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has seen outstanding reception from both players and critics, reflecting Warhorse Studios' dedication and Deep Silver's publishing expertise."

"We're confident the game will continue delivering strong revenue thanks to its exceptional quality and immersive experience," Wingefors added. "With planned updates and new content over the next year, we're committed to keeping the community engaged with fresh experiences."

Looking ahead, Embracer has Killing Floor 3 scheduled for release this quarter (January-March 2025). The company currently has over 5,000 developers working across its portfolio, with 10 AAA titles planned for the next three fiscal years (2025/26 through 2027/28). Eight of these projects originate from internal studios, with two coming from external partners.

For FY2025/26, Embracer anticipates two major AAA releases towards year-end alongside mid-sized titles including Gothic 1 Remake, Titan Quest II, and console ports of Satisfactory and Wreckfest 2, with additional unannounced projects in development.

The company has faced significant challenges recently, including mass layoffs and studio divestments such as Gearbox (Borderlands) and Saber Interactive (Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2). However, it retains ownership of 4A Games, currently developing a new installment in the Metro series.
