Project Zomboid's vast map encourages vehicle use for efficient traversal. While walking is possible, it's impractical. Fortunately, many cars remain functional, and hotwiring provides a solution if keys are unavailable. This guide details the process and skill requirements.
Successfully hotwiring a car allows driving as long as fuel and vehicle condition permit, regardless of possessing the keys. Server admins can directly award skill XP using the "/addxp" command (syntax displayed in the chat box). Appropriate tools (e.g., screwdrivers) are necessary for dismantling and installation. Right-clicking vehicle parts and selecting "Vehicle Mechanics" allows part removal.
