Gacha mechanics play a pivotal role in Honkai Star Rail, and it appears that miHoYo, now known as HoYoverse, is set to enhance player control over character pulls. Exciting leaks indicate substantial updates to the banner system with the release of version 3.2, offering a new way for players to engage with the game's gacha features.

According to insider reports from Sakura Haven, the 3.2 update will introduce a customizable pity system for limited banners. This innovative change allows players to select their preferred characters from a designated set, replacing the standard pool for 50/50 pity pulls. This gives players greater control over their rewards, enabling them to tailor their experience according to their preferences.

Currently, the 50/50 pity pool includes 7 standard characters. With the version 3.2 update, this will shift to a 'Group' of characters from which players can choose. You can select 7 characters from this 'Group' to form your personalized 50/50 pity pool. This means that if you lose a 50/50 roll, you'll receive a character from your customized pool rather than the default standard lineup.

The 'Group' will initially comprise the 7 standard characters along with a limited selection of additional characters for players to choose from.

This update is poised to significantly improve the player experience by reducing frustration and enhancing flexibility. By allowing players to customize their pity pool, miHoYo addresses a common grievance with gacha systems: the unpredictability of losing pity rolls. With the ability to prioritize specific characters, players will have a better chance of obtaining units that align with their playstyle or preferences.

However, it remains unclear which characters will be included in the selectable pool. There's uncertainty about whether the pool will include past limited characters, current banner units, or even new additions.

The proposed changes showcase miHoYo's commitment to refining Honkai Star Rail and making it more player-friendly. By introducing a customizable pity system, the developers recognize the importance of player choice in gacha games. This initiative could set a new benchmark for how similar systems are designed in other games.

Although the precise implementation and impact of this feature are yet to be seen, the announcement has already generated excitement within the community. Fans are eagerly anticipating how these changes will influence their gameplay experience when Honkai Star Rail 3.2 is released.
