Freedom Wars Remastered plunges players into a dystopian struggle against monstrous Abductors. As a Sinner, upgrading weapons and accessories is crucial for survival. This involves boosting base stats and adding performance-enhancing modules.

Early weapon upgrades are readily available, eliminating reliance on mission rewards. This guide details weapon and accessory upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

Weapon upgrades unlock after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main story. CODE 2 Sinners then access the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility manages all weapons. Upgrades require resources and Entitlement Points, costs reducible with the assistance of a Citizen, each offering varying discount rates. While seemingly complex, the process is intuitive.

A pre-upgrade screen shows stat changes. The facility also allows Element addition and Module/Slot experimentation. Higher Grade weapon upgrades need permits purchased from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

Early missions yield few high-Grade weapons. Zakka in The Warren offers limited Grade 1 items, making upgrades almost mandatory. A CODE 3 Exam requires higher Grade Development Facility Permits, allowing focused weapon upgrades. Low-Grade mission weapons can be donated for sentence reduction and extra Entitlement Points.

The first Weapon Development Facility upgrade unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with further achievements tied to the upgrade system. The substantial damage difference between Grades incentivizes gear improvement.

The Ability Development Facility, part of Facility Management, unlocks later.
