Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC features some truly frightening characters. A dataminer has recently unveiled the unarmored character models, revealing a surprising level of detail and design choices. While some models are relatively simple, others boast fascinating characteristics that beautifully complement their in-game lore.
Like other Soulsborne titles, Elden Ring's intricate lore is a significant draw. Much of this lore is subtly revealed through in-game clues, with dataminers often uncovering deeper layers. Following the unveiling of the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss's unarmored form, another dataminer has now explored several more DLC characters.
In a recent video, YouTuber and dataminer Zullie the Witch showcased the unarmored appearances of various Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree NPCs. The level of detail FromSoftware incorporated, even in unseen areas, is truly impressive. Fans have reacted enthusiastically to these reveals, with some noting that character appearances, such as Moore's, perfectly matched their expectations.
Detailed NPC Models Impress Elden Ring Fans
Redmane Freyja's model showcases scarring consistent with Scarlet Rot, a detail perfectly aligned with her established lore and unseen by players within the game. Furthermore, players have pointed out striking similarities between Tanith (from Volcano Manor) and the Dancer of Ranah, a fitting connection given Tanith's past.
However, some unexpected aspects emerged. Hornsent, for example, lacks horns in the model. The dataminer suggests this omission might be due to the need for a completely unique character model. Fans have countered that, given the DLC's new hairstyles, horn customization should have been included.
