Microids announces the autumn release of Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest, a modernized remake of the 1994 classic, Little Big Adventure, across all major gaming platforms. This updated version retains the original's charm while incorporating significant 21st-century enhancements. Developed by 2.21 and published by Microids (also behind a new Totally Spies game), the remake builds upon the legacy of Adeline Software International, the original developer, now defunct.
The remake boasts a revitalized visual experience and smoother gameplay. Key improvements include a compelling narrative with rich themes, redesigned level layouts and controls, an upgraded version of Twinsen's signature weapon, fresh artistic direction, and a new soundtrack composed by Philippe Vachey, the original composer who also collaborated with Frederick Raynal (former Infogrames programmer and creator of Little Big Adventure) on the Alone in the Dark series.
Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest transports players back to Twinsun, a planet inhabited by four harmonious species. This peace is shattered by Dr. Funfrock's cloning and teleportation technology, granting him tyrannical control. Players take on the role of Twinsen, embarking on an epic adventure filled with challenging puzzles and formidable enemies, aiming to overthrow Funfrock and restore harmony to Twinsun.
Following a 2011 GOG.com re-release (PC and Mac), and later Android and iOS ports, the announcement of this remake, first hinted at in 2021 by co-creator Didier Chanfray (of Time Commando), culminates in a launch slated for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) later this year.
