Clash Royale heads back to the past with new (yet old) Retro Royale mode

Clash Royale is throwing it back to 2017 with the limited-time Retro Royale Mode! Running from March 12th to the 26th, this nostalgic event offers exciting new rewards. Climb the 30-step Retro Ladder to earn Gold and Season Tokens.

Supercell's continued success stems from consistently refreshing its top games, as evidenced by recent changes in Clash of Clans. Now, Clash Royale celebrates its anniversary by bringing players back to its launch meta. This new mode features a limited pool of 80 cards from the game's early days.

Compete in the Retro Ladder and battle for exclusive rewards as you ascend the 30 steps. Reaching the Competitive League assigns a starting rank based on your Trophy Road progress. Your Retro Royale performance then determines your climb up the leaderboard. Show off your classic Clash Royale skills!

A Royal Throwback

It's interesting that I recently discussed Supercell's efforts to keep their games fresh, only to see a retro mode arrive so soon. However, nostalgia isn't the same as outdated gameplay. With enticing rewards, fans will likely embrace this trip down memory lane.
