Wriothesley Rerun Rumored for Genshin Impact Version 5.4
A leak suggests Wriothesley's long-awaited rerun in Genshin Impact will arrive in Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns regarding the game's banner scheduling, made challenging by the large roster of over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots.
Genshin Impact's current system struggles to provide equitable rerun opportunities. Even with the introduction of the Chronicled Banner, intended to alleviate the issue, characters like Shenhe still faced extended delays (over 600 days) before their reruns. Until the implementation of triple banners, longer wait times between character reruns are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates his inclusion in Version 5.4's Event Banners. However, it's crucial to note Flying Flame's mixed track record with leaks, particularly concerning Natlan. Therefore, this information should be treated cautiously.
The recent Spiral Abyss buff, however, indirectly supports the rumor, as it benefits Wriothesley's gameplay. Version 5.4 is also anticipated to feature Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining Event Banner slots may be filled by either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
