My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket ebbs and flows like the tides. I dive deep into the game whenever a new set launches, staying engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that goal is met, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick for the fun of it, and then setting the game aside until the next day. This cycle is about to kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, set to launch on March 27th.
This expansion is set to inject 110 new cards into the TCG Pocket universe, featuring a diverse array of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and those stunning art cards we've all come to adore. The highlight, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, these are rare, differently colored versions of your favorite creatures. Imagine a yellow Lucario instead of the traditional blue, or a Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.
The trailer, which you can view below, offers a tantalizing glimpse of what's in store. Among the highlights is a new Shiny Charizard Ex with a robust 180 HP. Its Steam Artillery attack packs a punch with 150 damage, though it demands five energy cards. A steep cost, but its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy at once, speeding up your strategy.
Another exciting addition is a new Ex version of Lucario. Previously more of a support player in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is designed for frontline combat. With 150 HP, it's not the most durable, but its Aura Sphere attack is formidable. For three Fighting Energy, it delivers 100 damage and an additional 30 to one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.
The trailer also teases other cards that, while not game-changers, are visually appealing and exciting. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the horizon, each looking fantastic. And don't miss the breathtaking Tatsugiri art rare, a must-have for any digital collection.
