Niantic's newest Monster Hunter Now update brings Exploration Bases, a feature similar to PokéStops. Season 7 introduces this system, designed around the cooperative heart of the Monster Hunter community.
Hunters can now collectively upgrade local bases by submitting exploration emblems and reports, rather than finding random items. The effort compounds—the more players contribute, the stronger the base becomes, granting rewards to everyone involved.
Each base operates on a three-week cycle called a Wave. After one concludes, players can earn rewards such as Item Box Expansion +500 and as much as 2,000 base reputation. A leaderboard tracks everyone's participation.
Exploration Bases focus less on individual combat strength and more on teamwork. Newer players and those without fully upgraded gear can still contribute meaningfully. According to the developers, this feature expands the hunter experience beyond simply hunting monsters.
The inaugural Wave begins on September 18, 2025, continuing through October 13, 2025. The outbreak monster is the 8-star Riftborne Deviljho. Separately, Riftborne Deviljho officially joins the monster lineup on September 22.
The game's 2nd Anniversary event runs from September 14 to September 28, 2025. During this time, hunt monsters, defeat or repel elder dragons, and finish event quests to collect special 2nd Anniversary Exchange Tokens. Watch the anniversary preview video below.
Exchange these tokens at the Event Exchange Hub for items such as an Item Box Expansion and Wyvern Gem Shard. The event also offers exclusive outfits, anniversary gifts, and special campaigns.
Additionally, alongside Deviljho, Season 7 adds other riftborne monsters such as Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian. Download the game now from the Google Play Store.
