No Man's Sky: A Guide to Obtaining Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft Solanium, ensuring you have a steady supply regardless of your base location.
Finding Solanium:
Solanium is akin to Frost Crystal but thrives in hot, arid environments. While in space, target a planet and use your scanner to identify its climate and resources. Look for designations like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched Planet," indicating the presence of Solanium.
Once landed, utilize your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These are plentiful and require a Haz-Mat Gauntlet for harvesting. If Phosphorus deposits are present, collect them; they're essential for Solanium crafting when hot planets aren't accessible.
Farming Solanium:
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, establish a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome to cultivate Solar Vines. This requires 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for growth before harvesting.
Crafting Solanium:
The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, mostly involving Phosphorus from hot planets (alternatively, purchase Phosphorus from traders or Galactic Trade Terminals). Recipes include:
Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To consistently obtain Sulphurine, prioritize Phosphorus gathering and base farming.
