Universal Studios Unveils Fallout Haunted House for 2025 Halloween Horror Nights

IGN has learned exclusively that Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights will introduce two major new haunted house experiences this year – one based on Amazon Prime's Fallout series, and another inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s film featuring animatronics from Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

Venture Into the Wasteland

The Fallout haunted house will launch on August 29 in Orlando and September 4 in Hollywood, immersing guests in unforgettable moments from the show's first season. Visitors will begin their journey in Vault 33, following protagonist Lucy MacLean as she uncovers dark secrets and escapes a brutal massacre before emerging into the treacherous Wasteland.

Attendees will encounter deadly Scavengers and Raiders while dodging attacks from mutated RAD Roaches. Key locations from the series will be recreated, including the Super Duper Mart, with appearances by the Ghoul and Maximus in his formidable T-60 power armor.

Behind the Scenes of the Wasteland

Universal creative leads John Murdy (Hollywood) and Matthew Flood (Orlando) shared insights with IGN about recreating Fallout's distinctive retro-futuristic aesthetic. "This nuclear wasteland setting represents completely new territory for Halloween Horror Nights," Murdy explained. The team has worked closely with the show's producers to ensure authenticity.

Notably, each park will feature unique elements. Hollywood's experience includes a fully animated Yao Guai bear and a functioning animatronic T-60 suit, while Orlando will stage an intense battle sequence involving multiple power armor suits.

Hidden Details Abound

Both houses will be packed with Easter eggs, including operational Pip-Boys and background details hidden throughout environments. "Casual visitors might miss them, but franchise fans will recognize countless references," Flood noted. Murdy's 100-page creative treatment ensures meticulous attention to every story beat and technical element.

The Five Nights at Freddy's house promises equally impressive authenticity. "It literally feels like stepping into the movie," Murdy revealed, with animatronics provided by the same legendary workshop that created the film's creatures.
