Elden Ring: Nightreign Console-Only Testing Revealed

FromSoftware's highly anticipated new project, *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, will open its test access exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S owners. Registration for this eagerly awaited testing phase kicks off on January 10, with the actual testing scheduled for February. This decision means a significant number of fans, particularly those on PC, will miss out on the opportunity for early access to the game.

Bandai Namco has not disclosed why PC users are being excluded from this initial testing phase. However, those fortunate enough to own the specified consoles will have the unique chance to dive into the new game well before its official release, getting a first-hand experience of what *Elden Ring: Nightreign* has to offer.

One notable change in *Elden Ring: Nightreign* is the removal of the traditional "leave a message" feature found in FromSoftware games. Project director Junya Ishizaki shared insights on this decision during an interview, explaining that the gameplay sessions, which last around forty minutes, do not provide enough time for players to engage with messages. "We disabled the messaging feature because there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last approximately forty minutes," Ishizaki stated.
