Nestled in the north of Reaper's Coast, Bloodmoon Island remains shrouded in mystery. Encircled by the deadly Deathfog and disconnected from the mainland due to a destroyed bridge, reaching this enigmatic location seems daunting. Yet, exploring Bloodmoon Island is crucial as it enriches the main storyline and unlocks numerous side quests. However, Divinity: Original Sin 2 offers little guidance on navigating the Deathfog barrier. Here, we outline the methods to access Bloodmoon Island and advance your journey.
Initially, Bloodmoon Island was accessible via a bridge from Reaper's Coast, located northeast of Cloisterwood, near the haunts of Jahan and Witch Alice. Although the bridge now lies in ruins, you can still reach the island by using the Driftwood Fields waypoint and then heading to the bridge's remnants. Here, cast Spirit Vision to unveil the broken sections and navigate the trapped segments. Crossing this spectral bridge can be achieved with the following tools and skills:
Gloves of Teleportation: Acquired in the game's first act, these gloves enable teleportation without prior learning of the skill. Though time-consuming, they allow you to transport each party member across the bridge.
Translocation Skills: Skills such as Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat facilitate teleportation. Not all party members may possess these skills, but they are invaluable for crossing.
Teleporter Pyramids: These artifacts allow warping between pyramids. With two pyramids, place one in a companion's inventory who can then use translocation skills to cross the bridge. Once on the other side, the rest of your party can warp to their location.
Fast Travel: Use a companion with translocation abilities to reach the other side and unlock the Bloodmoon Island waypoint. Subsequently, the rest of your team can fast travel to the island, bypassing the need to cross the bridge.
For parties including Fane, an undead character immune to Deathfog, another route exists. Near Cloisterwood's northwest corner, an undead ferryman awaits at a pier, offering passage through the Deathfog to Bloodmoon Island. However, this journey is perilous for all but Fane, who can traverse the fog unharmed. If Fane takes the ferry alone, he can reach the island safely, unlock the waypoint, and enable the rest of the party to fast travel to him.
If your party lacks Fane but you still opt for the ferry, you'll need at least two Teleporter Pyramids:
For parties without Fane, using the bridge method is advisable for a swifter journey to Bloodmoon Island.
Avoid engaging the Undead Ferryman in combat, as he can unleash a Deathfog spell, leading to instant death. If you choose to challenge him, save your game first. Defeating him rewards you with a Soothing Cold skillbook, a regular belt, and 3,750 XP.
