Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. Access is initially limited; a convenient entrance lies southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer is situated beside a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create three-in-a-row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. The game can be exited and resumed, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Winning before debuffing is ill-advised, as the Lifer immediately attacks.
The Lifer boasts seven buffs, four removable using the Stake of Imbalance. These buffs are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (using Stake of Imbalance):
Permanent Buffs:
Four purple lines, revealed using the Sensor near the Lifer, lead to four outer maze rooms containing the Stakes of Imbalance. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms, each containing a winged statue and a Stake. One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another breaking Friable Rocks, and the final one involves a simple retrieval. Stakes glow white for easy identification. Place each Stake in its corresponding module to remove a buff; purple lines turn yellow upon successful debuffing.
With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer becomes significantly weaker. Initiate combat via the board game or by selecting "Fight it out!". The Lifer's attacks (punch, grab, spin) pose minimal threat.
Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests, varying with each victory (up to three). Buffs can be re-enabled for a more challenging fight, though no achievements are tied to this.
Four achievements are associated with the Lifer:
For board game struggles, focus on blocking the Lifer's winning moves; it will eventually make a mistake.
