Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo launches another musou-genre title, Warriors: Abyss, a roguelite featuring familiar faces from the Warriors franchise. Announced during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss offers isometric gameplay reminiscent of Diablo and Hades, challenging players to assemble a squad and battle hordes of enemies.
The gameplay footage showcased characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, battling demonic forces in a hellish landscape. According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, utilizing up to seven heroes simultaneously from a launch roster of 100 warriors. Further character additions are planned, including those from Dynasty Warriors' Jin kingdom, with potential additions from outside the Warriors series hinted at.
Warriors: Abyss is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. A Dynasty Warriors Costume Set in-game bonus is available until March 14, 2025. For a comprehensive overview of today's PlayStation State of Play announcements, consult our recap.
