This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable new Pokémon: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Arrival in Pokémon Sleep
The December 2024 Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the debut of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Expect boosted encounter rates and bonus Dream Shards throughout the event. Shiny versions will also be available.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears from 3 PM on December 23rd on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Increased encounter chances exist during the event. Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot all have a "Snoozing" sleep type. While evolution via Candies is possible, studying their sleep patterns requires wild encounters. Snoozing sleep (a common, light sleep) significantly boosts encounter rates. A Balanced Sleep type also offers a chance, but with lower odds.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, also appearing from 3 PM on December 23rd, is rarer, found only on Snowdrop Tundra. Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetails have a "Slumbering" sleep type, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter chances. A Balanced Sleep type also offers a lower probability.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
For the highest chance of catching both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, focus on Snowdrop Tundra during the event. Note that Snowdrop Tundra has higher team requirements, so prepare your team beforehand!
