The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can leverage existing resources to accelerate their progress. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.
Following the Season 01 update, many Black Ops 6 and Warzone players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. Initially, these were readily usable for boosting XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a subsequent November 15th patch addressed a bug that allowed their activation within the Black Ops 6 interface.
These Legacy XP Tokens are unused tokens carried over from previous CoD titles accessible through the COD HQ app, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with brands like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While usable in Warzone, their direct application in Black Ops 6 was temporarily disrupted.
At the Season 01 launch, players could directly activate their Warzone Legacy XP tokens within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed due to the aforementioned bug fix. However, a workaround existed:
The workaround involved activating Legacy XP Tokens within Warzone. Upon returning to Black Ops 6, the token and its timer would appear in the game's UI. While requiring switching between games and featuring a real-time countdown, this method still provided a significant XP boost.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
