Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025, and congratulations on surviving another complete orbit around our magnificent solar orb. As we kick off the new year, it's the perfect time to preview the most anticipated game releases of 2025. Let's dive into what's coming our way!

January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins
On January 17, Tecmo Koei's iconic musou series makes a grand return with Dynasty Warriors: Origins, the first major entry since 2018. Harnessing the power of next-gen hardware, you'll be able to obliterate hordes of enemies while shouting the series' iconic battlecry, "DIE, NASTY WARRIORS!" Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.

For those who enjoy eliminating foes from a distance, Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30. This latest installment in the long-range, Nazi-targeting series sticks closely to its beloved formula. And yes, you can still aim for those particularly sensitive shots. It's coming to all Xbox and PlayStation consoles, plus PC.

February 2025

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Neither, but it is a bohemian rhapsody - Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues the saga of Henry of Skalitz, the humble hero from the original game. Set in the immersive, historically accurate world of 14th-century Bohemia, this RPG offers deep role-playing and a vast open world. The journey of Henry can go any way the wind blows. Available on current-gen consoles and PC, launching February 11.

If you're into epic historical strategy on a grander scale, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 also releases on February 11. This legendary franchise needs no introduction. Take the reins of civilization and guide its progress through history with the four X's: Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate. It's available on virtually every platform, including Linux, but not mobile - though that may come later.

On February 14, Assassin’s Creed Shadows transports Ubisoft’s renowned open-world series to the long-awaited setting of feudal Japan. With dual protagonists, you can choose to embody both a ninja and a samurai. Available on current-gen consoles and PC.

If you're spending Valentine's Day solo, dive into Date Everything!, a sandbox dating sim where you can romance over 100 anthropomorphic objects, including a literal sandbox. Fully voice-acted and available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds
Avowed from Obsidian hits Xbox Series consoles and PC on February 18. Set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, this game shifts to a first-person perspective with real-time action combat. While it may resemble Skyrim, its scope is more akin to The Outer Worlds, offering a manageable 40-hour experience.

For those craving high-seas adventure, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii launches on February 21. Follow Goro Majima as he navigates his new life as a pirate after a bout of amnesia. Available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Pirate Yakuza smartly moved its release date to avoid clashing with Monster Hunter Wilds, arriving on February 28 for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. This game aims to refine the core Monster Hunter experience while introducing new features to attract both veterans and newcomers. The wait for this title has been justified by its ambitious goals.

March 2025

Split Fiction
On March 6, Hazelight brings us another co-op adventure with Split Fiction. Join a sci-fi and fantasy author trapped in virtual reality for a series of wild escapades, including turning into pigs, then hot dogs, which you can still control. One copy lets two players enjoy the game online. Available on PC and current-gen consoles.

On March 25, immerse yourself in the tranquil life of a hobbit with Tales of the Shire. This cozy life sim lets you garden, smoke pipes, drink brandy, and engage in neighborhood rivalries, far from epic quests. Available on PS5, Xbox Series consoles, Switch, and PC.

Atomfall
If you prefer a more perilous countryside, Atomfall offers a post-nuclear survival experience inspired by Fallout and Stalker. Set in an alternate history where a nuclear disaster went catastrophic, it's coming to all platforms except Switch on March 27.

The universe of Dungeon & Fighter expands with The First Berserker: Khazan, a single-player action RPG, also launching on March 27 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

On March 28, inZOI hits PC, aiming to be a game-changer in the life sim genre. With stunning visuals and innovative gameplay, it could be one of the year's biggest hits, especially after 11 years of The Sims 4. Current-gen console versions are planned for later.

April 2025

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
On April 24, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the series' first new game this century. Featuring beloved characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, this fighting game aims to live up to the legacy of the 1999 classic, Mark of the Wolves. Available on PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC.
