George R.R. Martin recently announced the upcoming illustrated edition of A Feast for Crows, the fourth book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series to receive this treatment. Illustrated by Jeffrey R. McDonald, the book is slated for release on November 4, 2025.

Preorders are available through major online retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target. This release marks five years since the last illustrated edition (A Storm of Swords) was published in November 2020.

The Winds of Winter Update:

Unfortunately, there's still no concrete release date for The Winds of Winter. Martin's December 2024 interview hinted at the possibility of never completing the book in his lifetime, despite having written 1100 pages as of November 2023. While disappointing, the ongoing illustrated edition releases suggest the first five books will be completed in this format before The Winds of Winter is finished, if ever.

Do you think George R.R. Martin will finish A Song of Ice and Fire?
