Nightdive Studios has unveiled a revamped title for their modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic. Previously known as System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, the game will now launch as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, and will also be available on Nintendo Switch.

The System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis reads:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself suffering from amnesia. Something has gone horribly wrong. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots patrol the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel's cold, metallic hull. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, immersing yourself in its rich narrative and atmospheric environment. Unravel the horrifying fate of the Von Braun and its crew, deck by deck.

Nightdive Studios has confirmed that a release date and a new trailer will be revealed during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
