Clone Hero streamer and content creator CarnyJared has achieved the seemingly impossible: a full combo (FC) on DragonForce's notoriously difficult Guitar Hero 3 track, "Through the Fire and Flames," at a blistering 200% speed. His celebratory tweet, "IT. IS. OVER," perfectly encapsulates the monumental achievement. Recorded on February 27th, the video showcases this world-record-breaking feat, the culmination of nine grueling months of practice.
CarnyJared expressed immense gratitude to his supporters on Twitch and YouTube, acknowledging their unwavering encouragement throughout the intense training period. He highlighted the collective effort, stating, "We all spent an unfathomable amount of time staring at the same 3,722 notes, figuring out any possible way to hit them more efficiently. Somehow it worked out, and somehow I am able to sit in front of this computer which you have all cumulatively provided to me, and make a living playing Clone Hero."
The video itself is breathtaking. Even at regular speed, "Through the Fire and Flames" is a challenge; witnessing CarnyJared conquer it at double speed is almost incomprehensible. Completing the seven-and-a-half-minute song in just over three minutes is a testament to his skill and dedication. An FC in Clone Hero requires flawless execution—not a single missed note. His on-screen stats reveal an impressive history with the song, showcasing nearly 2,000 FCs past the first bridge, 662 past the second, and a mere 227 to the solo—this 200% FC marking only his fourth successful completion of the solo section.
CarnyJared's heartfelt gratitude extended to his family, who supported him throughout the entire process. He considers this achievement the "hardest thing" he's ever done, and the joy in his post-run celebration is palpable. He's promised a detailed, hour-plus documentary chronicling this incredible journey in the coming months.
