Xion's Festive Transformation and Mini-Game:

Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").

A new mini-game adds to the festive fun. While details are scarce, it involves targeting a holiday-themed drone for special rewards.

Control Your Festive Fun:

The update introduces an option to enable or disable seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. This is found in the game's Settings under Gameplay, with three options:

  • Auto: Automatically enables/disables based on the season.
  • Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
  • Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.

Note: Changing this setting requires a restart to the most recent save.

Mixed Reception:

While many fans are excited, some have expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully enjoy the seasonal content is a point of contention for some players.
