Star Wars: Hunters is set to shut down before reaching its first anniversary, yet it will still celebrate that milestone before closing its doors. But is it really worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out? Let's delve into the details.

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey just nine months after its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as it concludes on that date. Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is releasing a final content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter named Tuya for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, make sure to use them, as there will be no refunds offered.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced numerous challenges right from the start. Initially announced in 2020, it suffered multiple delays and only had beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a lukewarm reception from players contributed to its downfall.

From a design perspective, the game missed an opportunity to capitalize on the Star Wars universe's iconic characters, opting instead for generic original characters. This choice may have alienated fans who were hoping to see their favorite heroes and villains in action.
