Alongside celebrating this success, they've announced an upcoming patch to enhance the game further. Dive in to discover more about the game's robust initial sales and the first patch on the horizon!
The Chornobyl Exclusion Zone is buzzing with activity thanks to the overwhelming number of players diving into STALKER 2. GSC Game World, the game's developers, proudly shared that they sold 1 million copies in just two days across Steam and their social media platforms.
Launched on November 20, 2024, STALKER 2 has captivated countless players, inviting them into the heart of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone to battle and survive against hostile NPCs and mutated creatures. This 1 million sold copies milestone encompasses sales from both Steam and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Additionally, players subscribed to Xbox Game Pass have also joined the fray, suggesting the actual player count exceeds the reported sales figures.
With such a remarkable achievement, the developers expressed their profound gratitude to the STALKER 2 community. "This is just the beginning of our unforgettable adventure," they stated. "With gratitude as deep as the X-labs network, we want to say: Thank You, stalkers!"
Despite the game's strong sales performance, STALKER 2 is not without its share of bugs and issues. On November 21, the developers reached out to the community for assistance in refining the game, saying, "We are constantly improving the game with hotfixes and patches, but to find the ‘anomalies’ to fix, we need your help."
They've established a dedicated website for players to report bugs, share feedback, or suggest new features. "If you encounter strange behavior, a bug, a crash, or are unsure whether the game is working as intended, please leave a request for Technical Support, sharing all the details about your case, on the special website we’ve prepared."
Players can access the Technical Support assistance webpage to report issues, provide feedback, or request new features. Additionally, the game’s Technical Support Hub main page offers FAQs and troubleshooting guides to assist players.
The developers also advised against reporting bugs on STALKER 2’s Steam page, recommending instead, "Please, refer to this website as your first source for help with technical issues. If you create a topic on the Steam Forum, there are fewer chances that it will be reviewed."
After collecting substantial feedback from the community, the developers announced the first post-release patch for STALKER 2 on its Steam page on November 24. "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is getting a first patch during the week to come — both on PC and Xbox," they announced.
The patch will address critical issues such as crashes, main quest progression blocks, and more. It will also enhance gameplay and make balance adjustments to improve the overall player experience, including correcting weapon prices. The developers also mentioned that future updates will focus on the analog stick and A-Life systems.
The announcement wrapped up with a heartfelt message to the players. "We want to reassure you once more that we will make every effort to constantly improve your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl experience," the developers affirmed. "We are truly grateful for your feedback and suggestions for improvement."
