Hazelight's beloved co-op adventure game, Split Fiction, has achieved a remarkable milestone by selling nearly four million copies. Publisher EA highlighted this achievement in their latest financial report, describing the game's launch as "hugely successful" and crediting it for contributing to a robust end to their 2025 fiscal year.
In a celebratory post on social media, Hazelight Studios exclaimed, "4 MILLION SOLD!!!! We are thrilled to see so many of you enjoying Split Fiction. The fun you have with our game, and the affection you show for characters Mio and Zoe, as well as for each other, truly warms our hearts. And the countless hot dogs made along the way..."
**Split Fiction** immerses players in the diverse worlds crafted by two fiction writers, offering a groundbreaking co-op experience where two players can enjoy the game even if only one owns it. Launched in March, the game quickly became another hit for Hazelight and its creative director, Josef Fares, selling over two million copies within the first week. It's also set to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, as Hazelight continues to develop its next project.Additionally, a film adaptation of Split Fiction is in development, with Story Kitchen, the company behind the Sonic movie adaptations, currently assembling a team of writers, a director, and a cast that includes Sydney Sweeney.
In our review, IGN praised Split Fiction as "an expertly crafted and absorbing co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," noting that it "is a rollercoaster of gameplay ideas and styles that are usually discarded as quickly as they’re introduced. This keeps it fabulously fresh for its full, 14-hour duration."
