Sony has officially unveiled the PC specifications for *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* ahead of its much-anticipated April 3 release date. Alongside this, they've detailed PSN sign-in incentives and announced fresh content for No Return Mode, available across both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog, in collaboration with support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, outlined the enhancements and features that players can expect from the PC version of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered*. This release comes a year following its debut on PlayStation 5, promising an enriched experience for PC gamers.
Additionally, the game supports ultrawide monitors, allowing play in 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and even 48:9 resolutions, with compatibility for triple-monitor setups. You can immerse yourself in 4K resolution, utilizing various supported controllers or opt for keyboard and mouse controls. The experience is further enhanced with 3D audio.
Keyboard and mouse controls come with extensive customization options, including full control remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode that lets players mix keyboard and controller inputs. DualSense controllers on PC also feature full haptic feedback.
“*The Last of Us Part II Remastered* on PC offers a wide range of graphics settings and presets, to ensure the best possible experience on hardware ranging from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices,” Sony stated.
Moving to the No Return mode, two new characters from *The Last of Us Part I*, Bill and Marlene, are being introduced. Bill adopts a "Smuggler" playstyle, equipped with a custom pump shotgun accessible from dead drops and receiving double rewards from drops. He's resilient against melee attacks but unable to dodge. Marlene, on the other hand, embodies a "Risk Taker" playstyle, featuring a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.
Four new maps will also enrich the No Return mode:
All the new No Return content, including new Trophies and additional bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch, Sony confirmed.
With Sony's recent reversal on the PlayStation Network requirement, *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* on PC features an optional PSN log-in. Logging in grants access to PlayStation overlay and PSN Trophies. As an added incentive, PSN sign-ins receive 50 in-game points to activate bonus features and a new Ellie skin featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s new PS5 game, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*. PS5 players can unlock this skin via the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.
Earlier this month, *The Last of Us* director Neil Druckmann provided more insights into *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet* in an interview with Alex Garland. Druckmann, reflecting on the development process, shared that *Intergalactic* has been in the works for four years. The game delves into themes of faith and religion within an alternate historical timeline, starring Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun.
The PC version of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* is set to launch just before Season 2 of HBO's successful TV adaptation, with showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin confirming the return of spores, which were absent in Season 1.
