Celebrate 25 years of The Sims with the return of the original games! EA and Maxis are giving fans a fantastic anniversary gift: The Sims and The Sims 2 are back on PC via Legacy Collections. Available individually or bundled together for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle, these collections include nearly all expansions and stuff packs for each game. The Sims Legacy Collection even adds a Throwback Fit Kit, while The Sims 2 Legacy Collection boasts a Grunge Revival Kit, in addition to its extensive content (note: The Sims 2 collection omits the IKEA Home Stuff pack).
This marks the first time in over a decade that both games have been readily accessible digitally. The Sims was initially a disc-only release, making it nearly impossible to play on modern systems without a physical copy. While The Sims 2 had a brief resurgence with an Ultimate Collection on Origin, that version is no longer available. Now, all four main Sims titles are easily purchasable and playable through digital stores.
Remember our glowing reviews? We awarded The Sims a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10 back in the day. Despite the series' evolution, the originals retain their charm—offering a unique blend of goofy fun, relative simplicity, challenging gameplay, and undeniable historical significance.
Dive back into the nostalgia! The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
