A reverse image search revealed the image originated from a Bon Appetit article featuring a Brooklyn Blackout Cake recipe, published on April 2nd, 2024.

Pellen also commented on the article with "mmmm tasty," leading dedicated fans to connect the dots, with comments on the cake post referencing Silksong. One fan even pledged to bake the cake if Silksong news arrived by April 2nd, 2025, while another playfully noted the cake's "silky texture," mirroring the game's title.
