Exciting news for fans of the beloved indie game, Hollow Knight: Silksong is indeed real and actively in development, as confirmed by Team Cherry’s Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew "Leth" Griffin. This reassuring update comes amidst swirling rumors and speculation, sparked by a seemingly innocuous change to Hollow Knight co-creator William Pellen’s X (formerly Twitter) profile picture to a cake image. This led fans to speculate wildly about potential announcements or an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) related to Silksong, particularly concerning a possible launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, YouTuber fireb0rn clarified that the cake was simply a playful, meaningless change, tweeting, "Apologies to have misled everyone. The cake was a lie."

Despite the confusion, Griffin put fans' minds at ease by stating, "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release." This statement marks the first update on Silksong's development in over a year and a half, rekindling hope among the game's eager community.

Silksong’s Six-Year Journey

First announced in February 2019, Silksong was originally slated for release in the first half of 2023. Silksong promises a fresh adventure in a new kingdom, boasting nearly 150 new enemies and a challenging new difficulty level called Silk Soul mode.
