Once near, hold L2/LT to complete the painting. However, locating the legendary Sumi-E is more challenging as they do not appear on the map. There are five such legendary Sumi-E to discover, each available during specific seasons and times of day.

Legendary Tanuki – Summer, Daytime

To find the Legendary Tanuki Sumi-E, journey to the Omi region during summer daytime. Head to the Shimmering Fields, specifically to the Shigaraki Hamlet. Upon arrival, you'll be surrounded by Tanuki statues. Follow the path upward to a clearing where the legendary Tanuki awaits. Take your time to approach and capture this unique moment.

Legendary Grey Heron – Winter, Daytime

The Grey Heron can be found in the Wakasa region at Lake Suigetsu during winter daytime. Navigate to the cluster of islands west of the lake. Approach cautiously on foot, as the terrain is flat. Once you reach the marked area, crouch and quietly approach the heron to complete your Sumi-E.

Legendary Macaque – All Seasons, Nighttime

Travel to the Yamashiro region and locate the Little Leaf Glade sub-region. Near the Sarumaru Shrine by the mountains, wait until nighttime. Climb the stairs to the top where you'll find the three wise monkeys, ready for your Sumi-E.

Legendary Silver Fox – Autumn, Nighttime

In autumn, at nighttime, head to the Kii region and the Nakahechi Route sub-region. Visit the Kamimisu Inari Shrine, where you'll find statues of foxes. At the cliff's edge, you'll encounter the legendary Silver Fox, perfect for your Sumi-E collection.

Legendary Deer – Spring, Nighttime

Navigate to the Yamato region and the Yoshino sub-region during spring nighttime. Start from the Mountain Blossom Temple to the west and head east along the path to reach Sakura Meadows. Ascend the slopes to a clearing where the legendary Deer awaits to be captured in your Sumi-E.

Keep in mind that even with correct timing and location, the animals may not always spawn. If you encounter this issue, try fast-traveling to a nearby location and returning to the spot, hoping for better luck.
