A Record-Breaking Unboxing Livestream

On November 26, 2024, The Pokémon Company achieved a new Guinness World Record for the longest unboxing livestream, celebrating the launch of the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion.

The event, streamed live on Pokémon's Twitch channel, featured renowned online personalities including Serebii's Joe Merrick, PokeGirl Ranch, and Mayplaystv. Over 24 hours, this trio opened over 1,500 booster packs and other Pokémon products, accumulating over 20,000 cards, according to the official Pokémon press release.

Peter Murphy, Senior Director of Marketing at The Pokémon Company International, expressed his excitement about this achievement, stating, "It's been an incredible 24 hours of pack opening, and we're thrilled to have achieved such an ambitious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title with an amazing team of content creators."

The celebration continues! The official Pokémon press release promises further giveaways on participating creators' channels within the next two weeks. The cards collected will be organized and donated to charities, including Barnardo’s in the UK, before the holidays.

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks Launch

Released on November 8, 2024, the Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks expansion transports players to the Terarium, the central location in Pokémon SV's The Indigo Disk: DLC Part 2. This expansion introduces powerful Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, including Archaludon ex with its impressive Metal Defender ability.

Iconic dragon-type Pokémon like Palkia, Dialga, Eternatus, Alolan Exeggutor ex, and Tatsugiri ex also feature prominently. Tropical vibes abound with illustration rare and special illustration rare cards showcasing Alolan Dugtrio and Feebas amidst calming ocean waves. New Tera Pokémon ex like Pallossand ex and Flygon ex add excitement to players' decks.

The expansion is also available digitally via the Pokémon TCG Live app, where players can earn in-game rewards by collecting and battling with the new Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
