Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses: Confirmed for Future Expansions

Rumors suggesting the obsolescence of Pack Hourglasses in upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions have been officially debunked by The Pokemon Company. The statement confirms their continued use to reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour, regardless of the expansion.

This news is significant for players who have been stockpiling these hourglasses since the game's October 2024 launch. The recent addition of the Mythical Island booster pack, containing 68 new cards, followed the initial Genetic Apex packs (226 cards across three packs). Speculation arose that future expansions might render Pack Hourglasses irrelevant, especially with another expansion anticipated in January 2025.

The Pokemon Company's confirmation assures players that their existing Hourglass reserves remain valuable. While the possibility of new expansion-specific currencies remains open for future updates, it's not impacting the upcoming expansion. Players can continue to earn Pack Hourglasses through daily challenges and the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop. Each Hourglass reduces the 12-hour Pack Stamina waiting period by one hour, allowing players to open two packs daily.

The various in-game currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, different types of Tickets, Poke Gold, and Pack Points, coexist with Pack Hourglasses, adding layers of progression and reward. This clarification should alleviate concerns about the value of accumulated Pack Hourglasses and reinforces the expectation of continued Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions.
