Nintendo's Japanese retail launch of the Alarmo alarm clock has been delayed due to insufficient stock. Read on for details about this postponement and the Alarmo's future.
Japan's General Alarmo Sale Postponed
Nintendo Japan's official website announced the postponement of the Alarmo's general sale to a later, unspecified date. Initially planned for February 2025, the launch is delayed due to production and inventory challenges. The impact on international stock, with a general release planned for March 2025, remains unclear.
In response, Nintendo is implementing a pre-order system exclusively for Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Pre-orders open mid-December, with shipments beginning early February 2025. The exact pre-order start date will be announced later.
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic music from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure, with more sounds promised via updates.
Its initial release, via Nintendo's online and physical stores worldwide, proved unexpectedly popular. This led Nintendo to halt online orders and adopt a lottery system. The Alarmo quickly sold out in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.
