Netflix is releasing a new Witcher animated movie on February 11, 2025. Dive in to learn more!
Netflix Tudum, the streaming giant's official news site, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny, this animated film plunges into a coastal village embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. Instead of the usual beasties, Geralt finds himself facing a very different kind of foe.
Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.
Andrzej Sapkowski acts as creative consultant, with Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (writers for the live-action series) penning the script. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs.
The film is set between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt undertakes a new contract near the coast.
The coastal setting suggests a location between Redania and Temeria. The short story's setting, Bremervoord City in Temeria, under Duke Agloval's rule, is a strong possibility, though the film may take liberties with the source material.
